Sound Sculptures

Description:
Sound Sculptures is a series of sound-generated digital artworks, created in collaboration with the Berlin-based independent music label Sol Eterno.

The digital artworks were created based on various songs, by taking the acoustic data and translating it onto 3D digital shapes, thus directly connecting the audio and visual information. The process involved taking probes of the amplitude of the sound at certain time intervals, which were transformed into lines offsetted in 3D space. These lines were then connected to create a “sound surface” that was twisted and further manipulated to create the digital 3D sculptures.

The artworks were used for the respective covers of the songs that they were based on.
